All that Glitters is Gold

Clear nail polish + gold giltter + more clear nail polish = a party on your fingernails

I apologize the quality of these pictures. One day I will get myself a fancy camera and dub myself a photographer like all other bloggers.

Yes, you can DIY too

I always hear friends exclaim something along the lines of "I wish that I could sew stuff" or "I wish that I was crafty." Well, I don't want to burst the bubbles of all DIY-ers out there, but it's actually a lot easier than you would think. A Pair and A Spare posted a while back about how to get started when it comes to DIY-ing. I think she laid it out nicely in 5 simple steps, and on top of that, has motivated me to start my own DIY kit! Right now, my "kit" is really a pile of scrap fabric, and my sewing machine. I love the idea of collecting notions and embellishments!
I've been collecting ideas and inspiration for a while now, and I'm going to share some of them here with you. Hopefully you will see some of the finished-DIY-products in posts to come. For now, grab your DIY kit and try to figure out how to accomplish some of these yourself!

This bag makes me so angry whenever I see one of these American Apparel pouches. Seriously? It's like $50 for a leather rectangle. Regardless, this one would be an easy DIY to make. I'm thinking electric blue?

I have no clue who the original photographer was for this photo, but it has essentially made Emma Watson synonymous with the studded Burberry trench. 2 Things that I love here– Emma Watson, and studs. I have an old and fairly unused trench coat that really deserves a DIY makeover...

This Totokaelo Triangle cuff would be really cool and easy to make, but I think I would change up the colours for sure.

This Bodkin dress look deceivingly easy, but I feel I would have a hard time getting it to fit right. You'd need a really oversized man's shirt for this– Goodwill anyone?

Best for last? Now that everyone has joined the Hunter boot craze here in New England, I'm thinking of giving my dark green ones a girly update with some black bows.
